How To Install A Wall Mount In Your Home

One of the best ways you can redo your home theater system is by installing one of the newer LCD wall mounts in your house. If you are looking to pick up a new wall mount, and install it in your home, there are a few simple steps that you are going to want to follow to ensure that the project is done properly. These steps can help you avoid a lot of problems, especially if you have lost the instructions that came with the mounting bracket, or if the bracket you purchased simply didn’t come with any.

Step 1: Figure Out Where It Will Be Installed – First you will need to figure out exactly where the bracket is going to be installed on your wall. While this may sound fairly straightforward, you are going to have to dig a bit deeper into your walls, to ensure that you are going to be installing the mount onto the studs located behind the drywall.

Step 2: Install The Bracket On The TV – Now you will need to install the television portion of the bracket onto the back of your TV. Depending on the manufacturer of the bracket, you may have extra anchors in place that are designed to attach this bracket to the TV.

Step 3: Install The Bracket On The Wall – Now you will need to get the wall anchor bolts and begin attaching the wall portion of the bracket onto the studs that you located in step #1. Make sure that you are hitting the studs, and not just the drywall, or you run the risk of having the television hit the floor.

Step 4: Attach The Television Onto The Wall Bracket – Now you can attach the bracket on the back of the television to the bracket that you’ve installed onto the wall. Apply a small amount of down pressure to the bracket to test it for the sturdiness of the installation.
